Designing a Better Way to Work

At Tandem Architecture Group, we believe the best work happens when people feel secure, valued, and empowered. We’ve done away with the "black box" of corporate architecture and replaced it with a culture of radical transparency and genuine partnership.

Radical Financial Transparency

We believe that if you help build the firm, you should share in its success.

  • 25% Profit Sharing: We distribute a quarter of our profits directly back to the team quarterly.

  • Open-Book Management: We share our full financial health with the entire team quarterly. When we win, you know exactly how and why.

  • Equity in Pay: We maintain published pay schedules to ensure every team member is compensated fairly and equitably, with no guesswork involved.

Unmatched Job Security

The "boom and bust" cycle of the AEC industry shouldn't be your burden to carry.

  • The 18-Month Reserve: Before ownership takes any distributions, we build and maintain 18 months of operating assets. This ensures your paycheck is protected and the firm remains stable, even during economic "storms."

Investing in Your Architecture Career

Your professional growth is the firm's growth.

  • Licensure Support: We cover 100% of the exam fees for both the ARE (Architecture) and the NCIDQ (Interior Design) for your first 2 attempts.

  • Credential Raises: Achieving your license is a milestone worth celebrating—we provide an immediate base salary increase upon licensure.

  • A Path to Ownership: We aren't looking for employees; we’re looking for future partners. For those with the drive and vision, we provide clear, structured opportunities for firm ownership.

Job Description: Job Captain

The Opportunity

We are seeking our first full-time hire—a technically elite Job Captain who is ready to help build a practice from the ground up. You will work directly with the Principals to translate high-level design concepts into flawless, constructible reality.

Core Responsibilities

  • Primary Production: Own the Revit model from SD through CD. You will be the "hands-on" lead responsible for the heavy lifting of the drawing sets.

  • Site Plan Design Assist: Assist in producing conceptual site plans in aCAD.

  • Project Leadership: Coordinate with MEP, Structural, and Civil consultants to ensure integrated, clash-free sets.

  • Code Mastery: Conduct deep-dive code research (IBC, ADA, and local zoning) and implement findings directly into the project detailing.

  • Operational Input: As the first hire, you will provide critical feedback on workflow efficiency, software needs, and future production hiring.

Technical Requirements

  • Experience: 3–8 years in a professional architectural setting, preferably within the industrial, warehouse, or commercial sectors.

  • Revit Power-User: You must be expert-level in Revit. Since you are the primary production person, you need to be fast, organized, and capable of troubleshooting complex model issues independently.

  • Agility: The ability to pivot between multiple projects in a fast-paced, "startup" environment.

The Ideal "First Hire" Profile

  • The "Swiss Army Knife": You are as comfortable discussing design intent as you are detailing a complex roof-to-wall transition.

  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: You are excited by the prospect of building a firm’s technical foundation rather than just following an existing handbook.

  • Denver Local: You have a working knowledge of Colorado jurisdictions and the local consultant landscape.

  • Future Leader: You want to grow with the company? This is a ground level opportunity with future ownership potential.

Why Join a Founding Team?

  • Impact: Your fingerprints will be on every project and every standard we create.

  • Direct Access: Work side-by-side with the Principals—no layers of middle management.

  • Equity & Growth: As the first employee, your contribution to the firm's culture and success will be uniquely recognized and rewarded.

Salary Range

  • $70,000 - $90,000 - based on licensure status and experience.
